Dr. Roshan Kumar Shrestha to be honored
Dr. Roshan Kumar Shrestha from Thimi is to be honored with the Young Author Excellent Paper Award 2005 by the Japan Society of Hydrology & Water Resources, JSHWR. This award is beeing given for his paper entitled Performance Analysis of Different Meteorological Data and Resolutions Using MaScOD Hydrological Model Printed in Hydrological Processes. The award will be formally given on August 4, 2005 amid a function.
This is the first time, this award has been given to a non-Japanese.
Book on Thimi published
Chapahcho Information Centre has published a travel book entitled - "Destination Thimi". The book was released by hon'ble Culture, Tourist and civil Aviation minister Mr. Buddhi Raj Bajracharya in a program organized on 23rd july '05 here in Thimi.
The book contains valuable information on art & culture on Thimi. The book is written by Mr. Subhash Ram (Lachhi) Prajapati.
Shankhadhar Academy formed in Thimi
An adhoc committee of National Hero Shankhadhar Shakhwah Academy has been formed here in Thimi in the chairmanship of Former Mayor Madan K. Shrestha.
The committee includes Rajendra M. Shrestha, Shyam K. Manandhar, Chandan K. Shrestha and Gyan Ram Shrestha as vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer and joint secretary respectively. Krishna L. Shrestha, Ganesh Ram Lachhi, Gyan K. Shrestha, Suresh Shrestha, Babu K. Shrestha, Dharma Sundar Bajracharya, Prem K. Shrestha, Jun Shrestha are in board members.
