Temples and other Craftsmanship

Mahalaxmi temple of Bodey Thimi boasts of a exceptionally complex scene of religious building, temples, shrine and statues. Three tiered Balkumari Pagoda (of 16 century) is noted for its artistic grandeur. Besides this, two tiered Mahalaxmi temple (of 17th century) of Bode, three tiered Siddhi Ganesh temple of Nagadesh Lachhi Tole, two tiered Siddhikali (Inaya Ko) temples are some examples of superb craftsmanship. Divyaswari temple of Lokanthali is peculiar and rare of its kind in whole of the kingdom.

There are altogether ten Buddhist courtyards for monks (Bahals) including Nagadesh Bouddha Bihar. Among which Hembarna Mahabihar established in 810 Nepal Sambat is leading Bihar of Thimi. It has 108 images of Lokeshor painted around the Bahal. Other bahals include Gunakriti Maha Bihar (Digu Baha), Her Nilbarna Mahabihar (Yachin Baha), Guna Bakya Maha Bihar (Bakya Baha), her Subarna Mahabihar (Nhoo Baha), Jeta Barna Mahabihar (Dathu Baha), Purba Sthith Mahabihar (Jeeswan Baha) and Pati Bihar have their own peculiarities.Among these bahals, Gunakriti Mahabihar of Digutole is the oldest Bihar of Thimi, which was renovated by Dandapani Bajracharya in 808 Nepal Era. The number of shrines and temples can be found here at alomost every thresholds, yards, streets and crossroads, which is scared countable.
